Part 1. How to Listen to Audible on Sonos Using Sonos Controller

Both Audible app and Sonos app are available on Android's app store. In our test, either using Audible/Sonos app can finish the task to have Audible on Sonos well. You can either download both or one of the Android apps and pick up the mobile device for how to have Audible on Sonos or Sonos on Audible.

Note: To avoid issues with Audible and some Sonos app versions (For example: Sonos S3 12.0 and earlier / Sonos S1 11.2 and earlier), please make sure the Sonos updated.

Add Audible to Sonos App

For iOS and Android:

1. Open the Sonos app.

2. From the Setting tab, tap Services & Voice.

3. Under Music & Content section, tap Add a Service.

4. From the available music services list, tap Audible under Add Music Services.

5. Under Add Service, tap Add to Sonos to confirm.

Tips: Once the Audible account is set up, there'll be a Success screen.

Returns to the Sonos app's Browse page to start browsing Audible content in it.

Once the Audible service is added, follow the authorization instruction on the screen to authorize the Audible account or Amazon credential to continue.

For Windows and Mac:

1. Open the Sonos app.

2. Under the Select a Music Source section, click on Add Music Services.

3. Click on Audible to add.

4. Follow the similar instructions to add the Audible account or Amazon credential.

In addtion to the basic Audible account or Amazon credential, please also make sure to check if the appropriate Marketplace is selected to access to Audible.

Pro Tips: Stream Audible to Sonos Using Line-in Connection

In addition to using the Sono controller to stream Audible content on most Sonos devices, Sonos also supports streaming audio contents from more media devices, including phones, tablets, computers and Tvs connected with an audio input - Line-in.

Line-In is available on some Sonos products that allows Sonos customers to connect a device with an audio output. Once the device is connected to the Line-In port, it's simple to stream the Line-In audio using the Sonos controller app. If there's a Sono product with Line-in, connect it with the media devices from above and stream the Audible contents for a better listening experience.

Add Sonos Device to Audible App

For iOS and Android:

1. Turn on the Sonos device or make sure it responds well to a voice command.

2. Once the Sonos is on, open the Audible app on the Android phone.

3. For internet connection, make sure the Sonos device and Audible are in the same Wi-Fi connection.

4. On Audible, tap on a title to start streaming.

If in the same Wi-Fi connection, the Audible app will detect the activated Sonos device and a pop-up will appears at the bottom with "Sonos devices are available." Yes! The Connect to a Device button can be used.

5. Tap the Connect to a device at the bottom.

6. From the list of available devices, find and tap the Sonos device name.

7. Once the Sonos device is selected, read the permissions approval appears to Continue.

Note: If the Direct Control feature is used to add Sonos to Audible app the first time, a short note will appear: "Some Audible features, like narration speed, are unavailable on Sonos."

8. Tap OK to finish the task.

Now start listening to Audible books on the app, but via the connected Sonos device!

Note: In addition to the unavailable Audible features on Sonos from above, more Audible features are not supported on Sonos when using Audible app, including sleep timer, bookmarks, chapter navigation and Stats and Badges.

Part 3. How to Stream Audible to Sonos Using AirPlay 2

AirPlay 2 and Sonos

For Mac:

1. Make sure the Mac and Sonos are on the same Wi-Fi network.

3. From the top, tap the AirPlay icon next to the volum slider.

4. From the available devices list, click the Sonos device name.

Or to stream audio from the Audible app:

1. Once the Mac and the Sonos are on the same Wi-Fi network, select Mac's Control Center in the menu bar.

2. Under Sound, click the AirPlay icon.

3. Select the compatible Sono device and start to have Audible on Sono.

For Windows and Mac:

1. On Windows or Mac, launch ViWizard Audible Converter.
