Part 1. What Happens When You Hide Songs or Playlists on Spotify

You have several ways to hide music on Spotify, each with a different purpose and effect.

  Hide Songs in a Playlist

  The “Hide” option is the most direct way to manage tracks you don’t want to hear in a specific playlist. It’s mainly for personalized playlists like Daily Mixes or similar, and not for your own playlists — where removing the song may feel more straightforward. 1. Open the Spotify mobile app.
2. Go to a playlist or radio station made by Spotify.

Part 3. How to Find Hidden Songs on Spotify

Remember where you hid the songs, usually from a specific playlist. Hidden songs may appear under Recently Played if you’ve played them, but don’t worry if you can’t find the playlist — hidden songs can still appear in other contexts.

1. Open Spotify.

Part 5. How to Block or Unblock an Artist on Spotify

If there’s an artist you don’t want to hear on Spotify, you can block them. If you change your mind later, you can unblock the artist and their songs will play normally again.

Block an Artist

1. Open Spotify and search for the artist, or tap the three dots (⋯) next to one of their songs and select “View Artist”.
2. On the artist’s profile, tap the three-dot menu (⋯) under their name.
3. Select “Don’t play this artist”.
4. The artist’s songs will now be blocked in playlists and recommendations, though albums may still appear greyed out.

Unblock an Artist

1. Go back to the artist’s profile.
2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) under their name.
3. Select “Allow to play this artist”.
4. Songs by the artist will now play normally again.

Part 6. How to Hide or Unhide a Playlist from Your Spotify Profile

If you want to keep a playlist private, you can hide it from your profile. The playlist will stay in your library, but others won’t see it. You can also unhide it later if you decide to share it again.

Hide a Playlist

1. Open Spotify and go to Your Library.
2. Tap or click the playlist you want to hide.

1. Open Spotify and go to Your Library.
2. Create a new playlist, e.g., “Exclude from Taste Profile”.
